Book Events & SigningsThe Great Race, Nova Scotia StyleHanna's Books is very proud to announce the launch of Gary Blackwood's new historical non-fiction book The Great Race about the amazing round-the-world auto race of 1908. On May 30, to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the original event, Mr. Blackwood and Annette Hunziker (owner of Hannna's Books) will race in the environmentally friendly Smart car from Pugwash Elementary school to Wallace, Wentworth, Tatamagouche and finally River John Elementary, with Mr. Blackwood reading and answering questions at each school. Our very own Great Race will end at the Sunrise Mercantile in Tatamagouche at 7:00 pm where everyone is welcome to join us for the official book launch party. Reading starts at 7:30 with refreshments to follow. Date & Time: Fri, May 30 @ 7:00pm Location: Sunrise Mercantile, Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia ------------- Win a Trip for Two to Sable Island Enter the Read by The Sea draw and you could win a grand prize trip for two to Nova Scotia's Sable Island, renowned for its wild horses and shipwrecks. There are two grand prizes to be won. Each prize consists of lodging the night before departure, a chartered plane flight to and from the island, a guided walking tour, and gourmet picnic. Only 350 tickets will be sold so grab yours early. Tickets are $50 each and are available at Hanna's Books. The draw will take place at the Read By The Sea festival in River John on July 19.
